  1. “This Is A Life” by Son Lux is at the very top because the film Everything Everywhere All At Once gave me hope. After I saw this movie for the first time and the credits rolled, I knew I had to see it again. What makes everything feel more special is one of my favorite self-hidden musicians produced the entire album. I used to listen to them on Spotify in 2012, so I always had that teenage nostalgia towards them. I’m so proud of Son Lux & I’m so happy they were able to grace this film with their magic. This track in particular gives me such intense goosebumps (the whole album does who am I kidding). The movie gives you a taste of the track during one of the earlier scenes, followed by an abrupt cut before you can digest it. I hadn’t noticed this detail until my second watch. The bellowing lyrics “This is a life” echo in my mind after every listen. I also can’t praise the percussions enough. With every bump and thump it felt like going to a chiropractor for my brain. The entire song gives me the sensation of slipping down aerial silks, only to gracefully fall into a luxurious bed of roses and experience euphoria.

  2. “Avalanche” by HANA is radiating classic girl power anthem, giving me strength and reminding me my own optimistic. Her vocals cruise down the beat smoothly like a glass of cold water. When HANA sings the lyrics “You say you wanted me to hold my own but now I know, I was under your control” those are the lyrics I find myself yelling out out the most. Lately I’ve been having a difficult time with work, at war with myself between what others want and what I need. She continues, “Know that I can be the one to say no, Say no.” Knowing when to say “No” and actually move forward can be extremely difficult no matter how free you will be in the end. At some point you really have to stand your ground and shake things up, like an avalanche. Setting boundaries may feel icy cold to others but just like nature they cannot control you.

  3. For the past few months I’ve been feeling slightly more flirty than usual and I have to blame some planet in retrograde for it. Some people watch sappy rom-coms to get their “feels” out, others like to listen to a good ol love song. “I Do Love” by Prophet is exactly what the doctor ordered for this love sickness. It’s cute to crush and go on lil dates here and there, but man once you find that true love, it really elevate things. Throughout the entire song Prophet is explaining to his Sweet how beautiful she is to him and how he’ll do anything for her. He’ll do absolutely anything because he’s just gotta have her, can hardly get her out of his mind. Prophet’s funk in his keys & drums makes me dream about the type of cookouts I would like to host. I can imagine swaying my hips with my love, completely lost in the music together, surrounded by our chosen family. Can’t wait to see the vision come to fruition.

  4. The other night I had a cute sensual dance in front of the mirror, dressed in my “frumpy” house clothes & messy bun. My red LED lights warmed up the room, making me feel so sexy and so ready for summer time. “All up to You” by Shay Lia teleports me to a yacht in Miami, with a mango mimosa in hand. I can almost taste the Seabreeze from here. Not only does Shay Lia provide immaculate vibes, she also reminds us all of a very important message.

“You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be,

    Like is a long ride,

You Gotta just enjoy the journey”.

What can be more inspirational to hear as a young hottie rolling into another undiscovered phase. I’m so ready & excited for what life has to offer, and I will definitely have this song on repeat to remind myself.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look & I truly hope you enjoy the music. The playlist will be updated weekly so keep an eye out!
